Born in Czechoslovakia, Laisner first studied at the University of Chicago and, subsequently, at the Art Institute of Chicago. He exhibited widely and with success throughout the 1930's thru the 1960's including at San Francisco Art Association, 1930s, 1940s; Seattle Museum, 1937, 1939; Golden Gate International Exhibition, 1939; San Francisco Museum of Art, 1939, 1943, 1948 and at the Oakland Art Gallery (later, Museum), 1940, 1947. George Laisner's works are held in the permanent collections of numerous museums including the Seattle Museum and the San Francisco Art Association Museum. See less
