Truly beautiful and classic 18th century Louis XV "fauteuil" or armchair. Its solid walnut frame features hand-carved details. The vintage (but not original) wool Verdure tapestry upholstery is edged by top quality silk passementerie. The seat back includes an old mill, country landscape, and ducks. Which continues across the seat with two mountain goats at its center. This piece is not only elegant - it's also incredibly comfortable! Ready to be shipped from the heart of the USA. Measures 27" wide x 26.5" deep x 40" high. Seat rises is 16.5" above the ground.
The frame itself is structurally sound and In very good antique condition. The newer upholstery is in excellent condition with no rips, tears, pulls, or trim loss of note. Solid seat and back support with no need or reinforcement. Minor pulls on the edges of some of the underside webbing. See photos for details.
