A truly iconic piece of postmodern design, this is an authentic vintage ‘Mandarin’ armchair, designed by the legendary Italian architect Ettore Sottsass in 1986.
Originally designed for Knoll International, this piece is definitively a Stendig-produced version, as confirmed by the original maker's marks, law tag, and dust cover, all of which are present and intact. The "Made in Italy" mark further authenticates its origin.
This chair features a striking silhouette with wide, paddle-like armrests, a gracefully curved bentwood back, and distinctive circular feet.
Interestingly, it also retains an inventory tag from what appears to be its original corporate owner, the architectural firm "The Kling-Lindquist Partnership, Inc.," adding a unique layer of provenance to its history. A must-have for any collector of postmodern design.
