The versatile table features a skirted top supported four slightly curved legs. The form was inspired by Chinese vernacular furniture with "Luohan" leg and a classic Hollywood Regency design with the period material. The embossed leather surface showcases a granule texture mimicking shagreen skin and elevates this table to a luxury item. The table bears ab inlaid metal tag "Karl Springer" underneath. Kar Springer (1931-1991) is a celebrated German-born American designer who was trained as a leather book binder and was known for his furniture design covered in leather and animal hide with exotic pattern.
