Antique Floral Wool Hand Knotted Pile Blue 1925 Rug, Circa Date: 1925. This exceptional rug represents the height of early 20th-century Chinese weaving, characterized by a sophisticated interplay of negative space and stylized design. It is a superb example among antique rugs crafted during the transitional period.

The central field is dominated by an intensely saturated, near-midnight indigo, providing a dramatic backdrop for the delicate border. This use of a deep, solid hue highlights the artistry inherent in blue color rugs of this era, allowing the texture of the hand-knotted wool pile to speak for itself.

Woven in a desirable format, this piece is perfectly scaled for various placements where a standard room size rug is needed. Its dimensions classify it as an ideal selection among Room Size Rugs (6ft x 9ft), offering both visual grounding and an element of historical elegance.

The wide, contrasting beige border frames the deep field with sparse, elegant ornamentation. Asymmetrical sprays of stylized blossoms, branches, and traditional vase elements define the aesthetic. These carefully placed motifs contribute to the timeless appeal of floral rugs, offering a restrained yet beautiful naturalistic theme. See less
