This dramatic four-panel folding screen is a statement piece steeped in traditional Chinese artistry. Each panel is finished in a deep black lacquer and hand-embellished with applied carved figures and pagoda scenes, accented with shimmering mother-of-pearl inlay. The front depicts an elaborate courtyard scene of scholars and attendants, while the reverse features delicate gilt brushwork of birds and blossoms with Chinese calligraphy.
