Original old print of the city of Kochi (Cochin), Malabar Coast, India. Originates from a Dutch edition of 'Histoire générale des voyages' by Antoine-François Prévost. Engraved by J. van Schley. Jakob van der Schley (Amsterdam, 1715-1779) was a Dutch draughtsman and engraver, who studied under Bernard Picart, and whose style he subsequently copied. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
