Hand-carved in the 1800s, the wood has a warm, tan finish with visible grains and knotholes that accentuate the mesmerizing parquetry pattern. A small cut-out for the escutcheon can be seen on the right stile that rounds at the top. The left stile has a rounded upper corner too, providing a gently arching crest with the original frame behind it. Recently used as an entrance to a property on the island of Corsica, a territorial collective of France located in the Mediterranean, most of the hardware is absent, allowing the chevron door to be used creatively. Place it within a track system to make a fascinating pantry or laundry room door. It could also be hung horizontally on the wall and used as a headboard. Lastly, it could be placed under a sheet of glass, making a one-of-a-kind tabletop. See less
