Hand-painted in tempera on a wooden panel with gilt accents, this piece reflects the enduring traditions of Byzantine iconography, with subtle Western influence in the architectural setting and softly modeled drapery. The surface exhibits a fine craquelure consistent with age, adding to its depth and character.

This icon comes from a family collection associated with a Russian Orthodox priest, and has been preserved in the United States for decades. The reverse retains a label from Rose Frame Shop (Ferndale, Michigan), dated 1964, indicating professional reframing at that time.

Its scale and presence suggest it was intended for private devotional use, while today it serves equally well as a meaningful spiritual object or a striking decorative focal point in traditional or collected interiors.
