The subject’s vivid blue eyes draw immediate attention, framed by loose dark hair and a flushed complexion that glows with vitality. Billowing green fabric cinched by a broad maroon belt contrasts with the flowing sweep of purple cloth, creating both tension and harmony between structure and softness. Confident, expressive brushwork lends the figure a sense of immediacy and timelessness, placing her in a space that feels at once intimate and theatrical.

As the artist, I've always been influenced by the work of the classics; da Vinci, Sargent, Mucha, and Waterhouse to name a few. So doing portraiture only seemed natural to me. This piece is essentially a challenge to myself; to be able to paint what I wanted and how I saw the subject and convey it through paint and from my accumulated experience from traditional and digital art from the years. It's as much a piece of what I find beautiful as it is a piece of expertise and challenge. See less
