A collection of traditional Japanese artifacts, including a wooden box, a gourd, and a bundled item all originated from the Japanese Meiji period.
The box is adorned with Japanese calligraphy, possibly indicating its contents or provenance. The gourd traditionally used in Japan as a flask for sake, medicine, or water, or as a decorative item or good luck charm. The bundled item appears to be a long-handled bamboo ladle used in the Japanese tea ceremony to scoop water, or potentially another type of bamboo tool or material.
Circa 1890-1900. Artist's Signature On The Box.
