Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. These fabulous and truly unique antique Burmese Mandalay period drum panels were once part of an Orchestra Hsian Wain drum/percussion circle and they have been repurposed as they still have SO MUCH to offer!! They are composed of elaborately hand carved Asian hardwood which is painted, gilded, and inlaid with decorative details including jewels, mirror, and glass. They are slightly curved outward from the wall and feature their beautifully jeweled drum pickets across the top of the panels and a thin wood base trim. I mean… WOW!!!! This pair of decorative drum panels exhibits characteristics very common to traditional Burmese décor, particularly the intricate ornamental details, rich red background, and elaborately gilded symbols & motifs. They have a distinctive aura that will blend beautifully with so many design styles besides their Burmese Mandalay origin… ranging from Rustic and Spanish Revival to Mid-Century Modern, Hollywood Regency, Asian, and many styles in between.
