Toucan - 2013 - 50x35cm - Acrylic and Posca colors on canvas - 2013. Unframed: the edges of the canvas are painted. Signed on the side of the canvas and on the back. Born and raised on an island where the sea surrounds my city, I can't help but immerse myself in it to see another life, that same life changing and transforming before my eyes, where the fish become tropical, their colors become stronger, and their food is increasingly industrial. from the tropicalization of the climate and the environment, the work "Toucan" was born, and with it many other similar themes. Alessandro Filetti, born and raised in Catania in 1982, with a passion for drawing, follows an instinct that has led him over time to explore and choose some techniques that he still uses in his pictorial research today. He has always loved acrylics for their brilliance and watercolors for their spontaneity. While studying comics in Rome, he made extensive use of ecoline and computer graphics, which allowed him to appreciate strong, intense colors. At the Academy of Fine Arts, he took a course in graphic design and engraving to further his comics style. He worked briefly at a video game agency in Catania, also exploring digital painting, which he now uses to create graphic illustrations. After creating his first canvases, he rarely exhibited his work publicly due to a lack of confidence in himself and his painting. However, thanks to his connections with several gallery owners (Salvo Torrisi's Art Gallery, Vitale's Spazio Vitale, and Davide Calcagno's Gallerie Calcagno), who offered an objective perspective on the art scene, he was able to find a path, the one he still studies today, with great passion and pride, because he has finally begun to express himself. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
