An antique French Louis XV mahogany needlepoint upholstered chair with a velvet back and nail head details.

We love the pair of birds needlepointed on the seat. The back rest depicts a woman perhaps picking fruit with two dogs running in the foreground.
The images tell a little story of life at the time the chair was made.
The chair is in a lovely chocolate brown tone which is unusual.

Hand carved cabriolet legs. Original wood surface with old nail heads with natural patina. The back side of the back rest is old love green velvet.
The arm rests (which is part of a fauteuil style armchair with open sides and upholstered arms,) has needlepoint as well.

The chair is very old and in remarkable condition for its age. There is some surface wear and slight fading. The right seat edge has some snagging. The wood frame is tight and has some minor surface wear typical with use and age.
The seat is still soft.
