Titled "Moment of Flight," this abstract painting features a colorful array of wing-like brushwork. Signed to the lower right, the painting is displayed in a gold tone frame with linen inlay.

Born in Mexico City to Eastern European immigrants, Nierman, whose full name is Leonardo Nierman Mendeljis, originally wanted to be a violinist but instead studied mathematics and physics at the National University of Mexico. He began his painting career by painting murals and went on receive numerous awards and accolades, including the Palme D'Or des Beaux Arts of Monaco in 1969 and being named a lifetime member of the Royal Society of the Arts in London. Nierman's works have been exhibited worldwide including at Mexico City's Museum of Modern Art, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Detroit Institute of Arts, as well as many others.
