Finely detailed Satsuma table lamp of Buddha, 1950s Japan, on a richly decorated throne seating in a lotus position with hands on lap.
This position signifies inner peace, clarity and emotional harmony. This pose represents enlightenment that Buddha achieved through meditation.
The lamp has been professionally rewired with on-off switch on a solid brass socket and also a switch on the cord, just add your shade. No shade included.
Condition: Very Good. Minor wear consistent with age and use. Figure has some craquelure on off-white body. Please look at all images.
