They were used to shape shoes to a specific size by a cobbler. These are a size 2 1/2 E which appears to correspond to a modern womens size 7 (US) shoe size.

They are stamped in ink with the words 'GEO.FS IMPROVED SHOE' and have faint red stripes across the top.

On the side of the heel portion the wood is stamped with the numbers '223' and what apears to be a makers mark or brand logo.

The sole of the shoe last has a metal heel and numerous little nail holes telling the story of all the shoes this shoe form was used to make!

This beautiful matched pair (one left and one right foot) is made of solid hardwood and shows its history in the wood. These shoe lasts have been cleaned and then lacquered to preserve their history and are now ready for dispaly in your home or shop!

They would make exellent paperweights, decorative object d'art, bookends and more. See less
