Superb Napoleon III Game Wood and Glass Compendium Box C1880. Beautiful craftsmanship of the ebenist who made the box.
Inside is separated into sections, four of which lift out. These are intended for keeping different game cards and counters separate.
There are many natural ox bone counters. No cards or key.
A truly wonderful box of its type, in original condition. A beautiful rich patina which only comes with years of handling finishes the piece off perfectly.
