Evocative French seascape depicting a rocky inlet, painted in luminous blues and greens that capture the motion and light of the coast. The work is signed “J.D. van Caulaert” and additionally marked with Roman numerals “XXXVIII (38)”, suggesting a dated or catalogued studio notation. Presented in an ornate gilt frame with an acanthus leaf pattern, which complements the classical coastal subject beautifully.
