This is a classic early 20'th C recliner. the back has tow hooks to catch the rod to hold the back in place in three positions. The footstool can be left under or out, it is attached to the chair.. This is stunning early 20'th Century lounge chair with classic lines.
This rattan chaise lounge is in the style of the early-to-mid 20th century European modernists who worked in bent rattan and wicker, most strongly associated with:
• Franco Albini (Italian, 1930s–40s) – he designed several rattan and cane lounge chairs and daybeds with the same sweeping bent rattan frames and woven seats/backs.
• Dirk Van Sliedregt (Dutch, 1950s–60s) – produced rattan chaise longues and loungers with similarly bold bent rattan forms.
