This distinctive vase was crafted by the potter Shiun, associated with the Saji Kiln.
Dimensions: height 29 cm, diameter 10 cm
The surface is finished with a rough, natural texture and a striking color gradient: from soft cream tones to deep black at the base and rim. The expressive glaze, with its subtle irregularities, evokes the raw beauty of stone, ash, and fire – elements deeply rooted in the Japanese ceramic tradition.
The original wooden tomobako storage box bears the calligraphy 花瓶 (kabin – vase) along with the maker’s signature. This piece has an attribution mark,
