Terrific old sculpture of uncertain age and origin. Appears to be of Grand Tour vintage, late 19thC. Maker not known.
Archaic style bronze sculpture, believed to be based on an antiquity of perhaps Bacchus or other entity. Similar to several Greek, Etruscan and other examples. Nicely cast with "ancient" detailing and a dark brown patina. Non-magnetic, assumed to be bronze.
Sculpture _alone_ measures 3.5"x 2.5"x 9.25". Overall dimensions 4.5"x 3.5"x 11.5". In excellent, undamaged condition. Securely mounted to a marbled base, very hefty. Unmarked, undated.
