One of the largest and most striking works ever created by Annemarie Davidson, one of America's greatest enamel artists working in the 1950s and 60s, this decorative plate has a sunflower motif in bright yellow and orange hues. The overall effect is joyful as the colors shimmer in the light. Davidson was born in Germany but moved to New York as a teen, later meeting and marrying a chemist/molecular biologist. They moved to California, and after studying with Doris Hall and Curtis Tann, Davidson established her reputation as a skilled and vibrant enamelist.
