19th Century German pewter lidded coffee pot by Gustav Metten featuring an elongated body, hinged lid with acorn finial, a curved spout with dragon's head and an ornate handle. Maker's mark on bottom: G. Metten along with crown and castle marks. The crown symbol on German pewter is a quality mark, indicating that the piece is made of a high-quality alloy, known as Feinzinn, or "fine pewter". In good condition with light scratches. Finish retains a nice luster. Circa 1870-1890.
