Antique Tuscan ceramic foot warmer from the Val di Chiana. Its brown base features small leaves and swirls of terracotta in Siena yellow and green, arranged around four circular floral motifs. There are some small, minimal losses near some of the leaves.
It was originally filled with hot embers covered with a little ash and held close to the body for warmth. It dates back to the mid-1800s.
