These masks were used in ceremonies such as initiations, new moon rites, deaths of chiefs, and more. They were believed to be imbued with spiritual, human, and animal essences. Beautiful signs of age and use. Wonderful hung on a wall in grouping of masks or on its own. Circa 1920's. See less
