A traditional Romanian folk art, Horezu pottery is made by local artisans in the town of Horezu in northern Vâlcea County, Oltenia, Romania. Using the region's mineral rich red clay, these beautifully handcrafted pottery pieces adhere to centuries old techniques using natural dyes and traditional glazes. In 2012, UNESCO added Horezu pottery to the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity List, which aims to ensure better protection for important cultural heritages worldwide and raise awareness of their significance.
