Frederic Remingston began sculpting in 1895, creating dynamic and realistic depictions of the American West. His sculptures initially used sand-casting before he transitioned to the more refined lost-wax method around 1900, working with foundries like Henry-Bonnard and later Roman Bronze Works. Remington closely collaborated with the foundies, refining his models and gain critical recognition for the action and detail in his bronzes. After his death in 1909, his widow, Eva continued to oversee the production of bronzes from the existing molds until her death in 1918. I do not know the history of this particular sculpture that I am currently selling. See less
