This work of a soaring seagull, cast in solid bronze and with a complex verdigris patina, aptly demonstrates Thew’s artistic skill.

The lamp stands about 10 inches high to the top of the socket; the base measures 4 ¾ inches in diameter. With the paper shade, the lamp stands about 14 inches high overall.

The lamp is in excellent original condition and has been rewired. The black paper shade has been gently used and is in very good condition and works nicely with the verdigris patina on the lamp -- very dramatic when lit. Use it with the shade or a decorative bulb such as the one photographed (the bulb is not included in the sale of the lamp). A reducer is included with the lamp, which allows the use of a candelabra-based bulb, which is the only type of bulb that can be used with the clip-on shade (60 watts maximum). See less
