We often call these "gobelins" in the netherlands, but that's not a collective term for all antique tapestries. Gobelins was simply a very well-known tapestry manufacturer. Our example comes from france and dates from the 18th century. It depicts a large, exotic castle garden with many trees and plants. A chateau is visible in the background. In good condition. The colors are still very bright. Beautiful shades of blue, green, yellow, and gold. Wear consistent with age and as we would expect from tapestries of this age. In several places, there are some holes from hanging for centuries and an old candle burn mark. Dimensions: 265h x 308w See less
