Add authentic 19th-century craftsmanship to your home with this handsome pair of antique Bennington ceramic door knobs. Known for their distinctive swirled “tiger’s eye” brown-and-golden glaze, these knobs were produced in Bennington, Vermont, in the mid-to-late 1800s, when the pottery was famed for its high-quality Rockingham and flint enamel finishes.
Each knob displays a unique marbled pattern with rich tones of caramel, amber, and deep chocolate brown. The glossy ceramic is mounted on its original iron shank and hardware, retaining a wonderful patina of age.
Dimensions (approx.):
Knob diameter: 2.25″
Overall length with shank: 5.5″
Condition: Very good antique condition. Light surface wear and expected glaze variation consistent with age. Some oxidation to the iron hardware, adding to their authenticity and vintage appeal.
These knobs are highly collectible examples of Bennington pottery and would make a striking addition to an antique architectural restoration, farmhouse renovation, or displayed as decorative objects.
