Painted kidney-shaped bureau de dame, Louis XVI/Gustavian style, with a caned three-quarter gallery and letter rack, on fluted legs joined by a shaped stretcher, with side chair and side table. This cohesive suite presents a classic neoclassical profile: a kidney-shaped writing desk (bureau de dame, also known as a bureau rognon) with molded top and caned three-quarter gallery that sweeps into a central letter rack; a matching side chair with oval caned back and seat; and a two‑tier round side table echoing the same fluted, tapered legs, in the manner of the Louis XVI Style White Painted Ladies Bureau Rogon at Baker Mansion. Solid walnut frames and carcasses with an off‑white hand‑painted finish; cane to the desk gallery and the chair back and seat; period‑style brass knobs. This ensemble displays carved rosettes, reeded uprights, and a shaped stretcher centering a small finial beneath the desk. The round two‑tier table functions as a companion gueridon to the writing table. The overall presentation aligns with the Louis XVI/Gustavian revival work of the 20th century, which translates as a refined ladies’ writing suite ready for placement in a dressing room, boudoir, or study. A custom upholstered squab cushion is all that is required for added comfort.
