This small gilt bronze tripod vase is an ode to the graceful plant life and organic sculptural art of the emerging Art Nouveau movement of the late 19th century! Supported by three feet elegantly tied with floral garlands, the body of the vase and its two handles are wrapped with vines that tenderly encircle a small putti in bas-relief. The patinated bronze reveals subtle reflections of gilt bronze, while the interior is delicately gilded with fine gold. It can hold a candle or small flowers.

Designed by Barrias, the famous sculptor of the Belle Époque, and produced by Ferdinand Barbedienne, a renowned 19th-century Parisian master bronze founder, this vase embodies the craftsmanship and refinement of an era that celebrated the democratization of art in interiors and collections, as well as Art Nouveau, which is the perfect union between nature and art.
