Born into a family of cabinetmakers, he founded Maison Leleu in 1910, which became renowned for its refinement, exacting materials, and understated elegance. He collaborated with the greatest decorators of his time, designing prestigious ocean liners such as the Normandie and the France, as well as embassies and official residences. His style is distinguished by a skillful balance between tradition and modernity, playing with precious woods, fine marquetry, and clean lines.
