A rare and iconic armchair designed by Czech functionalist pioneer Robert Slezák, manufactured in the 1930s by the Slezák company in Bystřice pod Hostýnem, Czechoslovakia. Catalogued under model number K 17, this piece represents the essence of Bauhaus-inspired Czech modernism, merging clarity of form with functional elegance.
The chair features a chrome-plated tubular steel frame, ergonomically curved beech wood armrests, and hand-woven natural cane seat and backrest. The seat has been professionally re-caned using traditional techniques. The chrome and wood elements have been carefully cleaned and polished, retaining a beautiful vintage patina.
