A 19th century French cupola from a rooftop belfry housing a cast bronze bell. Cupola has wrought iron frame with zinc roof. Bell hangs from wood yoke and has a 36" long pull chain and a beautiful clear ring. Foundry stamp on bell: Walser F. Budapesten. Ferenc Walser (1827–1901) was a notable Hungarian bell maker and some of his surviving works can be seen in the St. Stephen Basilica and the Matthias Church. Iron has rusty patina, zinc has a small split along one seam. One of the iron rod supports has a missing scroll decoration. Rods will be removed for shipping. Circa 1870-1890.
