This sink is in nice condition for its 72 years, with bright white porcelain that has relatively few blemishes. Aside from some very light wear, the horizontal top of the backsplash is fine from the front to the back edge and from one end to the other. The surface where the faucet resides and running along the edges and front of the bowl looks very good with no chips, cracks, scratches, or other blemishes to be found, and the "soap dishes" are both free of the deterioration from the lye in the soap that is common for sinks of this age. We normally do not include faucets with the sinks we offer, as they do not hold up as well as the rest of the sink, but in this case the faucet was retained. The chrome does have pitting and wear, but the style and the fact that it is original to the sink lead us to the decision to leave it installed. The sink has not seen water for decades, thus the faucet has not been recently tested, but the movement of the knobs feels correct, and the stopper rod functions properly. The vertical face at the back, the sides, and front running down into the bowl are virtually spotless, and the bottom has some slight wear, and the only chip found on the sink. It is at the front, right corner and measures a tiny 0.06". The drain hole flange has significant chrome loss, so it was painted silver to clean up the appearance. The stopper is not original, but is from the same era. It had to be modified a little at the bottom end to have it work properly. This piece is in good overall condition. The entire outside of the sink; front, sides, and back, are excellent. All is free of any damage or wear and looks very nice from all angles. The few miniscule imperfections that were found were determined to be part of the make up of the piece, as they are under the glaze finish. The underside is also above average, with no damage or wear present, and the plumbing and mechanical parts are in good, usable condition. The sink can be mounted on the wall with or without legs. When we acquired it, the sink was set up with legs, but they were too far deteriorated to include. Please see the pictures for further details.
