The bowl features an elongated, organic form. Its surface reveals a deep, earthy reddish-brown color with subtle tonal variations and a lively texture reminiscent of coarse woven textile. This natural appearance is the result of the traditional firing process, where each nuance and irregularity lends unique character.

Traditionally, bowls of this kind were used as ikebana basins (suiban) – low vessels in which floral compositions were arranged according to the art of ikebana.

Thanks to its generous size, the bowl today makes an impressive centerpiece, perfect for displaying fruit or nuts, yet equally striking as a purely decorative object.
