Signed Fenton Lavender Crest opalescent glass vase with a hand-painted floral design, signed by the artist D. Fredrick.
Fenton Art Glass Company was founded in 1905 by brothers Frank and John Fenton in Williamstown, West Virginia. Fenton quickly became known for its innovative glassmaking techniques, including the development of Carnival glass and various opalescent glass colors. Their Lavender Crest line, featuring a delicate lavender rim on opalescent glass, was particularly popular.
Many Fenton pieces were hand-painted by talented artists, and signed pieces are more valuable.
