While the lower part of the work draws the eye towards abysses, the whole oscillates between elevation and vertigo. Vibrant shades of blue, red and black magnify the illusion of a surface in perpetual motion, intensifying the visual dialogue between the suspended sphere and the accompanying checkerboard pattern. Here, Vasarely orchestrates a symphony of volumes and optical effects, immersing the viewer in an almost hypnotic experience, on the borderline between illusion and reality.
