This classic piece of furniture can be easily transformed into a low table thanks to a special folding mechanism.

This type of furniture originated in England in the late 18th century – the first design was described and published by Thomas Sheraton (1751–1806) in his famous work The Cabinet-Maker and Upholsterer’s Drawing Book. Later, similar models were produced by the prestigious firm Gillows of Lancaster & London, making them very popular in libraries and study rooms of the Georgian and Victorian eras.
