A marquise-cut blue topaz stone is presented in an elongated high belcher setting atop a narrow band. The deep scallops of the setting allow light to flash all around the sumptuous stone. Marks inside the band include an eagle assay mark, "Mexico", and the artist's initials (hard to discern). The stone is impeccable and a stunning color, and the sterling has a warm patina. I haven't polished it, though it could shine brightly if you so desired; I prefer the subtle intimacy of just a light buff with a jeweler's cloth. Face of ring, 1"L x 0.65"W x 0.35"H; size 9.75.
