- The lithograph is in excellent condition and appears to be in its original frame. The white background appears to have … moreThe lithograph is in excellent condition and appears to be in its original frame. The white background appears to have some fading over the years typical of antique lithographs. The mat or mount was likely originally white, but is a yellowish hue due to aging. The wooden frame suggests antiquity by the presence of old nails to keep the backing board in place. The backing board of the frame is paperboard (similar to a durable cardboard and used in the late 19th century as an alternative to wood backing boards) . The frame, which it has likely been in for many years shows signs of aging. The dust cover or black backing paper of the frame is deteriorated and need restoration. less
