This extremely rare set of lithographs features preparatory studies for Henri Matisse’s celebrated late works, Blue Nudes I–IV and La Perruche et la Sirène. Created during the final chapter of his career using his pioneering cut-out technique, these pieces exemplify Matisse’s mastery in distilling form to its expressive essence.
Included are fluid, minimal studies of reclining and seated female figures from the Blue Nudes series, each line evoking movement and grace. A complementary study of the leaf motif from La Perruche et la Sirène highlights Matisse’s iconic use of organic shapes, underscoring his ability to transform simplicity into lyrical visual poetry.
