The quatrefoil … Read more This elegant antique porcelain chocolate cup and saucer exemplifies the Rococo Revival taste popular in late 19th-century Dresden. The quatrefoil cup, with its rare double-handled form, is finely decorated with hand-painted naturalistic scenes of exotic birds perched among foliage and butterflies in flight, edged with delicate gilt detailing.

Made by Helena Wolfsohn studio and signed beneath with the Augustus Rex “AR” mark, the set reflects Dresden’s fascination with reviving 18th-century Meissen designs, particularly the naturalist bird studies.
