Straight from the 1950s, this vase is a creation by Alain Maunier, grandson of Jérôme Massier and nephew of Jean Clergue. Born into a family of renowned ceramists and emblematic of Vallauris, he developed his own studio there while continuing the artistic tradition of the Massiers, inheriting the company "Jérôme Massier Fils" in 1960, thanks to his uncle, who transferred the business to him, a company he owned until 1990.

This vase is imbued with the Midcentury style of its time, with a geometric shape known as "Diabolo" and geometric "zigzag" patterns inspired by both primitive art and decorative abstraction, popular in the 1950s. It retains the typical Vallauris style, with a rich blue and green glaze bordered in black.
