Photographer Luca Babini photographs Clemente and his works. Clemente was born in 1952, Naples, Italy. After living many places in the world, Clemente moved to to Manhattan i 1981. There he became friendly with artists like Warhol and Basquiat; writers such as Ginsberg and Buroughs. Often classified as a neo-expressionist, Francesco Clemente makes rich gouache paintings, watercolrs and pastel drawings that range from distorted portraits to dreamlike scenes of violence and eroticism. Multi cultural art, he believes in "contamination of different cultures".
