This richly … Read more A beautifully hand-crafted antique Portuguese majolica plate, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century (circa 1890–1930).
This richly glazed earthenware piece features a deeply embossed leaf and clover motif in vibrant emerald green, a design strongly associated with the famed Fábrica de Faianças de Caldas da Rainha and the artistic legacy of Rafael Bordallo Pinheiro.

The glaze shows exquisite pooling and tonal variation — hallmarks of early hand-dipped majolica — with subtle all-over crazing consistent with age. The underside bears an impressed mold number “19,” typical of early production from Caldas da Rainha workshops before standardized factory stamps were introduced.

A small chip is present on the underside of the rim, not visible from the front when displayed. The plate displays beautifully and would make a stunning wall accent or centerpiece for collectors of early European ceramics.
