Delightful pair of jugs or pitchers, made of slip-cast ceramic (ceramic with added kaolin, also known as soft porcelain), glazed and vitrified, entirely decorated by hand, signed "Bafumo Catania" under the base and numbered, with two central decorations depicting the Ursino Castle in Catania, a famous Sicilian city, and Raphaelesque decorations on the rest of the jugs on a white background, dating from around the mid-20th century.

Useful information for evaluating the item:
Bafumo is an important shop, located in the historic center of Catania, open for more than 100 years, which offers typical Sicilian items, both ceramic and gastronomic. The pair was probably commissioned by the shop from an artistic ceramics manufacturer in central Italy, which is why they are signed under the base with the name of the shop. Considering the style of the decorations on the pair, I suppose that the manufacturer commissioned to do the work is either Deruta or Castelli, but it could also be Pesaro or Florence (Ginori or Cantagalli). The commission for the two jugs can also be seen in the central decoration chosen, which is Castello Ursino, an important monument in Catania, chosen at the request of the shop.
