INFORMATION:
In 1880, Degas began a series of monotypes inspired by Parisian brothels. These works were part of his personal collection and were purchased in the 1920s by Ambroise Vollard (an art dealer for Picasso, Renoir, Cézanne, Renoir, and even Georges Rouault).
He entrusted them to Maurice Potin, who transferred them onto copper plates and printed them. Vollard published them in 1935 in two portfolios of 350 copies.

This engraving comes from Maurice Potin's personal collection.
